Half Dome is Yosemite's most distinctive monument; it is 87 million years old and has a 93% vertical grade, the sheerest cliff in North America. The park has a wonderful collection of trees including the giant Redwoods and several spectacular waterfalls with the Merced River meandering through the Yosemite Valley.
